EASTERN EUROPE IS HUNGRY FOR ICE SCULPTURE |
|
Getting an ice business established in Eastern Europe has been a tough undertaking for Vesna Klajic and her husband, Nenad but it is gradually all coming together. Their company, Ice Queen started five years ago with a small mold making machine and the market centered around weddings. Helping Vesna promote her business is TG Grubisha from Washington who had experience in ice carving in his college days and is now a diplomat in that country. She also credits Janson Iwakami of Amazing Ice Sculptures of Renton, Washington for helping her get started successfully. With bigger projects, Vesna hires additional help for set-ups. She also credits her friends and contacts in North America for helping her to understand different ice production and carving techniques. Full credit must be given to Vesna and her Nenad for their dogged determination to establish an ice carving business in Eastern Europe where circumstances are not always conductive to start-ups.
